August 2025 Safety Roundtable
Engage in key safety discussions—including featured topic: Arc Flash—at this Safety Roundtable
August 21, 2025 | Aurora, CO
Roundtables offer a unique forum for peer-to-peer sharing of experiences, critical issues, and expertise. This exclusive discussion group is open only to Alltricity Network members. Typically, one or two presentations are given, followed by attendee discussions and sharing. The roundtable provides an excellent opportunity to share experiences, troubleshoot problems, and network with peers in a smaller, informal setting where each participant has the chance to pose questions and share information. Members have shown strong support for regular meetings to discuss current safety topics, share product experiences, and address safety-related issues in the electric utility industry. FEATURED TOPIC: ARC FLASH Hazard & Arc Flash Clothing SolutionsPresented by Tom Severino, National Account Executive, Tyndale This presentation will explain the fundamentals of arc-flash hazards—how they occur, the energy levels involved, and the applicable regulations (NFPA 70E, OSHA). It will then outline practical strategies for mitigating risk through work-site analysis, safe electrical practices, and the selection of arc-rated/flash-fire-rated (AR/FR) clothing. A special note on body burn will highlight how garments are tested under ASTM F1930, what “predicted body-burn percentage” means, and why lowering that percentage is critical to survivability. Attendees will learn how
layering, fabric choice, and program management can drive body-burn scores down—often below 20 percent—while still meeting comfort and budget goals. ![]() Presenter
