Managing the Next Generation: How to Motivate, Mentor & Recruit Early Career Talent
Monday, April 27, 2025 | 2:30-5:30 p.m. | Omaha, NE
Hosted prior to the 2026 Alltricity Network Spring Conference As the electric utility workforce evolves, managers are increasingly responsible for engaging and retaining early-career professionals with diverse motivations and expectations. This pre-conference workshop, hosted by the Alltricity Network NextGen Committee, is designed for utility managers and leaders seeking strategies and insights to better understand what drives the next generation and how to lead them effectively. Attendees will explore key motivators influencing emerging talent and receive guidance to build meaningful mentorship relationships that support professional growth and knowledge transfer. The session will also address best practices for recruiting early-career professionals, including what traits to seek, how to align expectations, and how to prepare managers to lead a multi-generational workforce. Participants will gain practical tools and approaches they can apply immediately to strengthen engagement, improve retention, and build a resilient talent pipeline for the future. Who Should Attend
