This 1.5-day technical workshop is designed to enhance lineworker safety, technical skills, and leadership abilities. On Day 1, participants will focus on safety and tool competence, gaining critical insights into the proper use of voltage and phasing meters, leadership development, and team-building techniques through interactive sessions. The day concludes with live line training, applying concepts from earlier discussions. Day 2 shifts to three-phase transformer connections and troubleshooting, offering a comprehensive overview of terminology, theory, and practical applications for primary and secondary transformer connections. By the end of the workshop, attendees will have strengthened their technical knowledge, safety practices, and leadership capabilities while networking with industry peers. Who Should Attend

Day 1 - Lineworker Safety & Tool Competence
This training will equip distribution professionals with critical insights into proper work and tool methods associated with the use of voltage/phasing meters as well as leadership and team building skills. The day will be broken into three sessions, each building upon the prior session:
Day 2 - Three Phases of Transformer Connections & Troubleshooting
This training will serve as a basic or refresher course for three phase transformer banks and will include terminology and theory, as well as primary and secondary connections for transformers. Topics include:

With 11 years at Bierer Meters, Brent has served as a safety instructor and speaker, supporting the electric utility industry. Over the past nine years, he has instructed thousands of lineworkers through the "Lineworker Safety Tool Competence Workshop" and has spoken at numerous national and international safety conferences, including those for cooperatives, contractors, and utilities. As the founder of Electric Culture of Safety (ECOS), he facilitates free monthly safety webinars for over 14,000 partners, fostering a grassroots effort to share knowledge and ensure lineworkers return home safely. Scott CorleySenior Instructor & Training Manager, Titan Utility Services
Scott started his 33-year electrical industry career as an apprentice lineman in distribution for CSW SWEPCO (now AEP SWEPCO) where he progressed to Crew Foreman. After 18 years he transitioned to Bowie Cass Electric Cooperative for six years to continue his lineman career. He was involved with the safety and training department as a guest instructor for the majority of his career with both utilities. He then progressed to the role of Loss Control Specialist for Texas Electric Cooperatives where he helped to further build the training and safety environment for linemen across the state of Texas. After a brief stint as an Instructor for TSTC Lineworker program he began with the training department for Titan Utility services in 2020, where he progressed to the position of Senior Instructor and Training Manager. At Titan he has developed technical training programs, including transformers, capacitors, regulators and other protective field control devices. Our goal at Titan is to improve upon yesterday’s efforts to provide effective safety and training education for today’s lineman to use in tomorrow’s environment. Pricing
Registration fees include: Breakfasts on both days, breaks, lunch on day 1, electronic handouts (if applicable), attendee roster, and upon completion, a continuing education certificate for 12.0 professional development hours (PDHs). This workshop is limited to the first 30 registrants, so be sure to sign up early and secure your spot! The Member's Only Early Bird rates for individual and group registrations ended on February 14. Cancellation Policy: Fees are refundable if cancellation is received on or before 5 p.m. MT on March 8, 2025. If cancellation is received after that date, half of the registration fee will be refunded. Payments will be processed for those who do not attend or do not cancel by 5 p.m. MT the day before the event.
