About the RMEL Project Management Workshop
The 2023 Project Management Workshop will review the basics, build on the methodologies, and share tools and apply them to case studies to assist with successful project management. Regardless of the types of projects you work, they all require you and your team to have sound project management skills and understanding in order to successfully plan, manage and control the projects. This workshop will further the in-depth discussions and applications to help you become a more disciplined, well-organized, and highly effective project manager.
Workshop Objectives
- Understand the language and some acronyms of Project Management
- Review the Project Lifecycle and Process groups of Project Management
- Define the current Best Practices and understand the practical application of those practices
- Explain the roles and responsibilities of team members – Stakeholder Management
- Review the steps for Planning a project and ensuring a well-crafted plan (recommended practices)
- Report the current status of project performance accurately (multiple factors – KPI’s, +)
- The Project Management Institute (PMI) is the foremost authority on Project Management. Using their documentation and guidance we can review the basics of Project Management and understand the fundamentals and best practices as well as the applicability to our unique projects.
About the Workshop Instructors Paul Henry, PMP, PMI-RMP, CRM, Senior Project Controls Manager, HDR, Inc. Paul has 12 years teaching project management in Corporate, University and Online formats. Paul has been in the utilities industry for over 14 years managing projects, setting up PMO/PDO teams, building tools/databases used for managing projects, and setting up 3 PMI platforms. He is experienced in Natural Gas, Electric and IT projects. Trey Neidert, PE*, PMP, Transmission Section Manager, HDR, Inc. Trey serves as a project manager and power delivery manager with HDR and has over 14 years of power delivery engineering and project management experience for projects ranging from 7.2kV to 500kV. Trey is well versed in managing multi-discipline project teams and in site acquisition, permitting, design, contract management, construction management, and project controls. Trey’s current responsibilities include working closely with leadership to build and strengthen relationships with key clients as well as building and managing a power delivery design team in Colorado. *Licensed in CO, ID, MO, MT, NM, OR, TX, WA, WY

All attendees will receive a certificate worth
12.0 Professional Development Hours (PDHs) by RMEL, upon
completion of the course. RMEL serves a large territory in which attendees participate in a number of accrediting organizations, each
with their own requirements. Depending on the certifying body you
are affiliated with, RMEL PDHs may be applied towards your recertification credit. Use the event brochure, and agenda to determine
how the content applies to your certification. The attendee is also
responsible for verifying how the quantity of RMEL PDHs convert to
your certifying body credits. Typically 1.0 PDH is equal to .1 CEU, but
you should always verify the conversion scale. RMEL Project Management Workshop Cancellation Policy: Fees are refundable if cancellation is received on or before 5 p.m. MDT on August 5, 2023. If cancellation is received after that date, half of the registration fee will be refunded. Payments will be processed for those who do not attend or do not cancel by 5 p.m. MDT the day before the event. To have someone take your place, please notify RMEL anytime before the event.
