Ground & Arc Flash Workshop Agenda At-A-Glance DAY 1 (Wednesday, September 20th | 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.): ISPC Senior Consultant Jim Vaughn will present a practical session on the principles underlying the federally mandated ‘Equipotential’ grounding (EPZ) requirements for workers in overhead, underground and with mobile equipment. The presentation explains why and how equipotential works and the OSHA and utility industry consensus standards that require EPZ Grounding. The format is open dialog allowing attendees to ask questions of the SME presenter. Attendees will leave the presentation with a uniform understanding of how to better protect their employees, what the law requires and what they should consider for their home utilities to ensure compliance with the statutory obligations. DAY 2 (Thursday, September 21st | 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.): Insulate, Isolate and Arc-flash protection for electric utility employees in overhead T&D, Substations and URD. The format is open dialog allowing attendees to ask questions of the SME presenter. The session will also cover the NFPA 70e requirements that apply to certain aspects of Generation Generation 70e and the clear exceptions to the NFPA 70e requirements for T&D and Substations. About the Instructor Jim Vaughn, BS., ME., CUSP, Senior Consultant, ISPC As Senior Consultant for ISPC Jim serves utilities as a safety specialist in utility industry related OSHA and consensus standards. Jim provides both consult and program development for utilities in OSHA compliant policies and procedures as well as consult on incident investigation and incident related litigation.
