About the 2024 RMEL Safety Conference 

Join us for the premier conference on electric utility safety, where we will delve into the dynamic and evolving landscape of occupational well-being. Our theme for this year's conference is Science of Safety: Innovate, Educate, Mitigate, encapsulating the essence of pushing boundaries, imparting knowledge, and minimizing risks. In 2023, we explored the transition From Compliance to Commitment, emphasizing the critical shift towards fostering a genuine dedication to safety. This year, we take the next stride by focusing on building trusted safety leadership and culture for total worker health. Our goal is to transcend mere compliance and instill a commitment to safety that permeates every level of an organization. This conference is not just a gathering of electric energy professionals; it's a platform to pool resources with diverse expertise. As we navigate the complex realm of safety, we will collectively discover innovative solutions, educate one another on best practices, and work towards mitigating risks. Keynote Speakers Announced!

April 3rd Keynote Speaker: Dr. Matthew Hallowell, Founder and Executive Director of Construction Safety Research Alliance • President’s Teaching Scholar and Chaired Professor of Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder.

Dr. Hallowell earned a BS and MS in Civil Engineering and a PhD with a focus on Construction Engineering and Occupational Safety and Health. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers on emerging topics such as leading indicators, energy-based safety, and precursor analysis. Since 2022, he has been recognized by Stanford University as one of the top three safety researchers in the world and among the top 1% of scientists across all disciplines.

April 4th Keynote Speaker: Wylie Davidson, Motivational Safety Speaker.

Wylie Davidson is a motivational speaker and safety culture specialist from Buffalo, NY. His ability to energize audiences while getting them to rethink their own personal safety values has been an effective resource with hundreds of companies at facilities all over the US, Canada and Mexico. With over 10 years in the safety world, coupled with 20 years in management, working his way up from the start, he has seen both sides of what an effective safety culture looks like, and his insight resounds with his audience

Cancellation Policy: Fees are refundable if cancellation is received on or before 5 p.m. MDT on March 22nd, 2024. If cancellation is received after that date, half of the registration fee will be refunded. Payments will be processed for those who do not attend or do not cancel by 5 p.m. MDT the day before the event. To have someone take your place, please notify RMEL anytime before the event.
