Tell a Friend About This EventTell a Friend

RMEL Safety Roundtables offer a unique forum for peer-to-peer sharing of experiences, critical issues and expertise. The roundtable is a discussion group, open only to RMEL members. Discussion is based on topics brought by attendees. Typically one or two presentations are given, followed by attendee discussion and sharing. The roundtable is a good opportunity to share experiences, troubleshoot problems, and network with peers in a smaller, informal setting.

Event Description

The Safety Roundtable provides a unique opportunity for members to come together to share experiences and expertise in the area of safety in the utility industry. Each participant is offered a chance to pose questions and share information. All attendees are encouraged to bring issues for discussion and materials for sharing. There has been strong support from members to meet on a quarterly basis to discuss current safety topics, product experience, and safety related issues. After a presentation, the remaining time is spent in an open forum where everyone has a chance to provide or request information that is relevant to them and other attendees. This roundtable is geared towards those with responsibility for the development, implementation, monitoring and oversight of safety programs for electrical utilities, as well as safety consultants.

Registration is COMPLIMENTARY, open to only RMEL members, and is limited to the first 50 registrants.

Featured Topic: Natural Disaster/Storm Restoration & Mutual Aid
Are you prepared for Mutual Aid? In some situations mutual aid has greatly decreased the risks and time span of a crisis, whether it is flooding, fires or storms. However, in some situations mutual aid has caused confusion and increased risks. Have you thought about material availability, performing in weather crews are not used too, or safety procedures and managing work of crews from outside your company? Have you gone through this and would like to share your lessons learned? Or join us to learn from those who have.

Come to the RMEL roundtable to hear from companies who have experienced the positive and negative of mutual aid. We will discuss lessons learned, incident command protocol, how to handle material, managing crews, safety management, logistics etc. Join in our roundtable discussion to hear the experiences of other companies, best practices, lessons learned and an opportunity to share your experiences and ask questions.
